Whoa...was this a Mack Bolan book? I’m not sure. This has got to be a first time Bolan writer. He calls TJ "the Hawk" and Kurtzman "the Bear". While the later nickname is close enough the former is as wrong as wrong can be. One line even read "the man known as "The Hawk"..." What? He is not known as the Hawk. He is TJ. Ok that’s the first issue I have. The second issue is...well, everything. Bolan seems strange and not himself. His interaction with the farm and Barb is all wrong, not to mention waaay to frequent. The strong Christian overtones of this book were annoying, don’t use action novels to push your god on me please. Ok ok ok Mr. Writer I get it, there is no luck, just god, you don’t have to tell me 3 times in 186 pages. There is hardly any baddie background and the ending is lame. The bad guys have no real plot or plan. this book is plain not good. I could go on and on. Just trust me. Avoid.

cant say i was a fan of this one. high on action but low on story. Mack is going after a old ww2 Nazi (he has got to be 90 at least if he was a camp commander in ww2) who got busted out of court in mid trial by his Neo Nazi thugs. so this Nazi, Klause Nitchze or something, was hiding in SA for more than half a century and had i giant private army with seemingly endless supplies? where was he getting funded from? nothing seemed to add up. Phil needed more room (page count) to strecth his legs. This should have been a superbolan.

Another book i have a love hate relationship with. here is why- Bolan is not a Merc. Why would he have to hire random Mercs from around the world. The US govt is in with many PMCs he could have got some guys from there. And your telling me The Farm could not pull a couple of Blacksuits to help their number one guy? This seems unlikley due to the fact the Farm can normally pull anything out of thin air. In most Bolanverse books (the 30 some ive read) Stony man works near impossible ops and deals to get the guys in the field anything they need. Its allways said how the Farm has the best resorces on the planet, tech, personel or othewise. But the could not get 6 or 10 Blacksuits to help Bolan out? bahhh.....Aside from that this book has some great action scenes and you get to see the "Sergeant Mercy" side of Bolan. That Albino baddie is a nice touch too.

this is a pulse pounder! in this great SuperBolan Mack takes on some Neo Nazi thugs. I cant get enough of SM and Mack killing this Nazi scum. Phil did a great job with this book! Perfect, gripping pacing and some of the best character development ive read in a while. Shane Hyde is the leader of a Neo Nazi cult and Mack is out to bring him in for intel reasons. A rouge govt agent named Troy is also after Hyde, for blood. Troy was under cover in Hydes "Reich", long story short is Troys cover was blown and some real ugly stuff went down. The "endgame" of this book is awesome! These punks get whats coming to them thanks to our boy Mack.

A great book! great to see Able and Phoenix work side by side. Able heads to south america to check on a crazy terrorist story told by an escaped hostage. Phoenix heads to Iran to check on the connecting leads. They all meet up at the end and the cover of the books starts to make sense. I was glad that the cover tied into the actual story because sometimes SM covers make no sense at all (see Terror Trail). This book has a great plot and some memorable characters. I loved "Pops", he was outstanding! His ending gave me goose bumps! I liked the amount of profanity used in this book. It was enough to be realistic (lets be honest, dudes cuss a lot!) but not enough to get annoying. lets hope this title is a SM trend and the good ones keep coming!

ouch...this one hurt. Painful to finish. Soooooo cookie cutter and predictable it was plain boring. Mack travels to Nambia to slaughter pirates, who dont do nearly as much raiding as the cover of the book suggests. Thats about the entire plot. The only redeeming factor of this book is the Nambian cop Mack teams up with. I really liked him, he was a good cop amongst an entire force of bad ones. He was the kinda guy that gives you hope for Africa so i really liked him. Then he gets killed! We dont even get a good "going down in the line of duty" death scene! This guy was a stand up guy, a real diamond in the rough, and all we get is a cheap summary of his death told after the fact! booo! Aside from that the action is soild, Newton pens great gunfights.

this is the fist Rouge Angel i have read. it was good, but not great. I loved the fast pacing and the labyrinth setting. The baddies in this one are good too, mysterious and evil. But, i must say that they should take away Annjas sword give her guns and rename her Lara. Yea, I am feeling like this is a Tomb Raider rip-off. Just look at what Annja is wearing on the cover, Lara style all the way. I just dont like the "magic" sword idea, seems TOO un-believeable. In closing i would say despite this goofy magic sword stuff this seems like it could be a soild series.

ugh...another bland Stony Man. One good note on this one is James undercover action.Able Teams op in New Mexico is alson good. Overall this terror plot is lame and predictable, these are some really dumb terrorists. These guys are major Al Queada rejects. Im not a fan of this author, his action is too vague. The attack on the terror camp was terribly written. Im not even sure what happend. Also at one point James turns in to Hawkins mid paragraph and tures back into James before the end of the paragraph. ohh and at one point Manning fires 9mm bullets from an AK47. (how do they miss this stuff in editing?) enough said.

A very good but also very different read from what looks to be a new author, Dylan Garret. This is not your typical Bolan book, it is low on action and high on intrigue/suspense. I could not put this one down! I liked how Bolan tried to get the job done with as little death and destrution as possible, he was a true Ghost in this one. This was more like a spy novel than a shoot 'em up, but the pacing was PERFECT! Can' wait for more from this author! Second great SUPERBolan in a row!

WARNING SPOILERS just finished this one. this was my first Deathlands book and i must say i was very impressed. great cast, awesome setting and bad guys. The action is pretty darn good also, though there is not as much action as a Mack Bolan title. Ryan and his crew are escorting a group of Nomads up the gulf coast when the convoy is hit by a pirate boss named Black Mask and all hell breaks loose. they end up in a mysterious town called Haven. this ville has a interesting and shady past and this is where the book gets good. Ryans lover Kristi suffers a near fatal snake bite during the pirate battle and Ryan must find a cure. But the story of "The Beast" and the towns history is what makes this book shine. if you like post apocalyptic stuff than this pbook is for you!

WARNING SPOILERS another good read! Bolan bumps into a Seattle cop named Logan who has gone off the grid because he is deep in hot water. A Russian "businessman" and a US Senator are out to get him because he has evidence that could spoil their corrupt oil stealing plan. I must say the whole "un-taped Alaskan oil" story is getting a bit tired and old. So the plot is pretty weak in this one, but the baddies were great (well the main baddies)! Vigo is just pure evil. Trust me on that, read this book and you will see why. Aside from the tired plot my other problem is the henchman of the main villans are really stupid. A 15 year old kid who has only played Call of Duty would have better combat tactics than these dolts. Bolan slaughters these fools. Still the action is solid and the setting is great. This book is very much like Nuclear Storm. That being said it will get the same rating. 7 stars.

WARNING SPOILERS! This is a great book! In this SuperBolan Mack takes on some Icelandic terrorists bent on getting revenge on England because they blame England for the Iceladic bank going under. The Icelanders plan is flawed and overly complex, like the plans of many super villians. An evil Russian who sold some contraband to the Icelanders sees that the paln is flawed and Bolan is making it worse. So the Russians use brute fores to take the Icelanders terror plot over and use it for their own reasons. Overall this book is one of the best Bolan books i have read. Loved the shifting of the enemy focus from Icelanders to Russians, also some great characters who flip flop sides from bad to good and vice versa. I dont have anything bad to say about this stellar title! I dont want to spoil it anymore so in closing i will say three words, READ THIS BOOK!

ok....i have a love hate relationship with this Stony Man title. first the good- great pacing and of course great action. the baddies are interesting and the story is great. i like the african setting with the war torn country and Sudans unique political situation. so on that i would give this book a 8 or 9! but there is a major problem. at one point, about 200-250 pages in, Calvin James is shot in the thigh. thats all well and good. but how can a bullet bury deep into his thigh and then in the next scene he is sptinting??? i think not. when he gets shot it sounds like a crippling injury but he is running 10 pages later??? c'mon man!!! dude took an round to an un-armoured thigh and is running again before the day is over??? i could not even believe what i was reading!!! how could they let this be published? do they read these books before the publish them? this glaring oversight takes 3 or 4 stars off the top making the final score a pathetic 5.

first Super Bolan i have read. in this book Bolan takes on some chinese madman bent on world domination. he is an interesting baddie, and he has a cool plan that unfolds very well and is easy to follow. of course Bolan kills like a million dudes and the action is solid. the fight on the damn at the end is a bit over the top but i guess thats why its a SUPERBolan. feels like there is a little filler in the middle. at one point Mack is trying to kill one dude for like 4 chapters and it gets old and seems drawn out to fill pages. also i understand Mack is a good shot but i mean c'mon....if he was this good he would be a top sniper in some sniper elite corp. he has to miss some shots? he is human.....anyway, it was a good read but not worth a re-read.

pretty good. would have liked more back story on the terrorists because the seemed to have an interesting story but it was not explained in enough detail for me. i like to know the reasons the crazies are crazy.park rangers and the female park ranger,she was pretty boring. also just way too convenient how Bolan just randomly stumbles onto these dudes bent on world destruction while he is on vacation. but overall i would say it is worth a read, good action and setting, but a little shallow.

this book is pathetic. suffers from bad pacing and a TERRIBLE ending. who is the bad guy/ bad guys? i dunno. i forgot. so much lame cookie cutter action and killing i forgot who or what Stony Man was even fighting! i cant even tell you what the plot was. ohhh wait... there was none. major let down! only reason it got 2 stars is because it killed time at work on slow days. avoid at all costs. unless you are really bored.....

Great book!!!! Nazis, Higlanders, lake monsters!!!! you cant go wrong with this one. if you like WW2 history and Loch Ness history you have got to check this out. Great pacing all the way up to the twist ending. thrid Executioner ive read and also my favorite.
