Teheran Wipeout

You know, I was going to write this one at five or six because it is a good story, but has not much originality to it. It is another story of Bolan fighting along side the mujahideen. But as I read I was liking it better. I will even give it an extra star for the scene where a Russian spy tries to get the drop on bolan, but Bolan draws faster and delivers a really cold kill. At any time Jack is involved I’ll give it another star. This book also builds on the Strakhov rivalry which improved the story for me.

It was a decent story...no really strong points, but not overly terrible. It was a little strange trying to follow the plot; it seems the author was trying to write a plot twist, but it was a little difficult to follow what exactly was going on. With the negative out of the way, there were a few strong points. 1) Jack Grimaldi's presence was welcomed. In fact, he plays a fairly prominent role and has a rather unique affect toward the end of the book...nice touch. 2). The more detail on Strakhov was solid and it's apparent the authors during this time of the series really wanted that adversarial relationship to stick. 3) The "doubles" regarding Khomeini was nicely done as well. This wasn't a great book, but was not terrible either. It was fairly mediocre.

I enjoyed this one but maybe not quite as much as previous titles from this author. Having said that lots of good things about this title firstly Jack is along for the mission which is always a plus. Heaps of action scenes throughout so if that is to your liking you will enjoy this one. Good story plot line to get into with quite a good twist at the end which I didn't see coming at least and came as a bit of a surprise. As usual you can really imagine you are there when you read one of this guys titles. Recommended reading in the series for sure.

What to say about this book .... hmmm ... its both good and bad, the intro rambling about how evil Khomeni is , just felt like propaganda, I know he was a bad man, we all know that, we don't need page after page about how evil he is, especially since this was written in the 80's. So after page after page of this, we discover Bolan is on a roof top with a perfect shot at him ... he just knocked out some guards and now he's all set .... no mention on HOW a 6 foot plus WHITE man can wander around downtown Iran (can't remember what city) oh and he has Jack in tow as well .....and then their escape plan is amazing, Run down the Street....couldn't they have come up with something better ??? Anyway there are some good fight scenes and some good intrigue and Jack is well written, but the main plot off the story is really silly !!!

What a strange book...............with confusing plot and characters!!!! The plot is wage and the storyline very weak for most of the book but with a little more effort this book could have been a good one. Characters.........well.....for a change Grimaldi has a major role in the book and portraits a humorous Italian with a great charisma which I haven't seen from Grimaldi in a Bolan book before. We are treated with a small imformation about Strakhov and Bolan's long battle with his mortal enemy. The CIA female spy was a cool character and I wonder if she will return later on in the series? Short and sweet...........weak book which really had some potential, if it had been given some more effort in the writing process. (2004)

"Teheran Wipeout" features Mack Bolan in Iran on a mission to kill that wacky Ayatollah Khomeini. Actually, the plot of this book is way more complicated and murky than any 180 page story needs. Let's just say this: Bolan moves around Iran killing lots of thugs and baddies in pretty good action scenes, the last battle being somewhat less satisfying than the others. Grimaldi is on hand and actually gets to do more than fly this time. Other characters are not as interesting or are fuzzy because of too many motives and plot twists. Just based on the action this book is good for 7 stars of reading enjoyment.

This one has an interesting twist at the end, this book is kinda similar to Appointment in kabul, but not quite as good , but it's worth reading.

THIS BOOK IS THE BEST ONE IN THE SERIES AND I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH. THANK YOU.

This book was so-so as far as I was concerned.

I THOUGHT THIS ONE WAS EXCITING IN AN ENIGMATIC SORT OF WAY. THE WAY TANYA DISAPPEARS AT THE END AND BOLAN AND GRIMALDI FIGHTING TOGETHER MADE IT AS EXCITING AS MANY OF THE OTHER BOLAN BOOKS ARE. THE AYATOLLAH STORYLINE WAS ALSO PRETTY NEAT TOO!
