Savage World

This book was a disappointment for me. not a very good book to end the series with. Phoenix Force was such an awesome series, it really did deserve better. I pretty much stopped reading Gold Eagle books after they stopped publishing Phoenix Force. As a story this book wasn't anything special that's for sure. I give it 6 Stars.

Just an average one, as pointed out before its the same old plot, terrorists trying to get the U.S. kicked out of the country ... yawn, but Fieldhouse always delivers great action and some cheesy dialogue !

Well alas this is pretty ordinary folks. The plot is your bog standard get a group of terrorists together start killing American buisness people and tourists. Why? Well then America will pull out or be kicked out of the country and the takeover of the said country will be assured of success. Never quite figured out how this could actually work but what would I know it has been done SO MANY TIMES in this series it MUST work right? While this author can always hide poor plots behind his extremely well written action scenes he fails to do so in this title as it is not until half way through the title almost where anything involving the team actually happens so it is hardly surprising we are on boredom street at this stage. So it finishes okay as usual. Action scenes okay and good as usual. Ordinary plot and storyline. Disappointing final title of the series I reckon the series deserved better than this. Couldn't recommend this effort to you in any way.

The Force meets up with an ally from Cold Dead and go after a Red Army faction in the islands of Indonesia. Calvin gets hurt in this one, and his spot is filled nicely by Amir Said, one of the allies for the mission. Manning uses his c-4 frisbees, and Encizo has a cool scene where he blows up a boat from underwater. Some good banter between McCarter and Manning. This is probably the weakest book in general of all the Fieldhouse PF novels in the series. Some good scenes here and there, but nothing really special in the story or the plot. A little too predictable and flat to rate it any higher than a six.

Again, more of the same explosive action. Grade: A

The only problem with this one is the fact that they essentially quit publishing PF's adventures after this one (Super Phoenix Force and Heroes series weren't published for some time after this one), and it left some loose threads dangling that have never been picked up. I was pretty disappointed with this one.
