Bird of Prey

I thought this was a very enjoyable read and it's a timeline in the series where Katz's replacement after his retirement TJ Hawkins features for the first time in this series. Lots and lots of good reading featuring supersonic jets and the scenes where the Blackhawk SR-71 is attacked by four Iranian MIG fighters stands out. The finish is also very well done where Phoenix Force is up the proverbial creek without a paddle and saved by some excellent writing featuring the SR-71 (have no idea if what was described is actually possible) but it reads very well. Docked this one star as there were a few sections of the title where it is a little flat with nothing happening but overall a fine read in the series. Recommended reading here.

Not a spectacular book, but not bad either. It felt, like a few other Kasner's that this would have been better suited for a general technothriller and not a Stony Man. Things moved along at a decent clip, and Able was featured nicely. Didn't find anything special about Hawkins' first appearance, but I did enjoy the climatic showdown between Bolan, Phoenix and the Iranians, with the SR-71 spy plane's Mach 3 flyby.

Really loved this one. I finshed this one in 3 days (could not put it down). MICHEAL KASNER really did his homework on the SR-71 (take it from somebody who knows the aircraft). I also like the fack that Jack was riding shotgun and not flying ,it made it beliveable. Albe team going from state to state kicking down doors and blowing s@*t up. Then the final big fight.... MUST READ !!!!!

Here's one for your aviation enthusiast. Sorry if my spelling is a little off today. Anyways there's a lot of combat description in the air. There's also a little something with a SR-71. It was a little bit slow overall a pretty entertaining read, especially if your an aviation enthusiast. The only let down is that Jack didn't get to fly in a fighter jet and take some enemies down. Now that would add excitement to the title.

I'm new to the Mack Bolan universe, so I'm slowly getting caught up on the series. Good Points: The introduction of TJ Hawkins (a character I really like) and the shifting of Katz over to the tactical side of the farm. His feelings of regret watching his former teammates head off was well done. I also like the Grimaldi character, and any book where he gets a prime role is a good book for me. Bad Points: I would have liked to see something to tie the US and Iran sides of the story a little tighter. Sure, the *reader* knows that they are connected, but the characters never really find out. Plus, what the *hell* was with Carl Lyons? I like the character from the other books I've read in the series, but in this one he came across as a Neanderthal with PMS who's been taking his stupid pills. Really, if this was the first book in the series that I was reading, I'd be wondering who was the idiot who even gave this guy a gun, let alone made him *leader* of Able Team. Either the writer doesn't like the character, or Ironman was having a *really* bad day.
