Vortex

Well what can I say this plot has been absolutely flogged to death especially by this author where opposing factions are urged to engage each other having suffered losses from sniper scenes or the taking out of various locations and killing of their soldiers and of course they come out swinging. I'm thinking here we go again. So the middle section of the title progresses and we have read it all before but the finish is very good reading indeed. Up to you if you have not read much of this author's stuff you would probably enjoy this I reckon.

this is one of the best i've read because the whole somalia thing is interesting as american soldiers are being sent there again. the action was non stop and i loves the book.

if i remember correctly i believe gimmaldi was in on the ground in action fighting w/ an ak47 in this one if my memory serves me correct. putting grimaldi on the ground every now and then to see him in action is a very nice rareity (sp???????)(that even a word? lol)

Disappointed that Able wasn't in this, but this book moved at a whirlwind pace. Had some really good action scenes, too. Sometimes Newton fails at having a solid plot, but I didn't mind this one being just one gunfight after another. The village gun battle near the end is quite extensive and very exciting.

The real Phoenix Force (with Katz, not Hawkins) and Mack taking down Somalian warlords. Though Phoenix would be back later to fight in these lands in Stranglehold, this one was the book with all the oomph. I only wish Able Team was on hand as well. Bolan and Phoenix are good at taking down terrorists, but Able Team is the stone cold expert squad when it comes to slaughtering death squads. I'd say the guys who ripped apart Salvadoran facist murderers and the Tamil Tigers should have been cut loose and given a full head of steam to feast upon their Somali counterparts.

Disappointing that Able Team was once again left out. Otherwise okay story. Awful cover art.

It seems like all of Newtons work never has Able Team in it.
