The war in Vietnam is over, but the battle rages on for Able Team. Only now the jungle fighting is in the hills of Orange County and enemy territory is Little Saigon, a refugee community ruled by the iron fist of General Sonny Trang. Sonny's activities are pure as the driven snow. The illegal kind. He's doing business with a drug network hot-wired to Hanoi heavies, led by a communist colonel who's brought her talent for torture to Southern California. But he's also playing footsie with the CIA - shutting down all official channels to an indictment. The President has only one option: he orders Carl Lyons and his men to return hostile fire. . . to crush Sonny and his Vietcong drug lords. This time America must win the war!

Another fine read here. Action almost non stop and a pretty good plot with a few interesting characters introduced. The tunnel scenes at the end of the book have some terrific writing and it keeps you turning the pages finishing with a very fitting ending to one of the main characters. Have to agree with the last reviews the machine gun Gadgets has seemed more like the chainsaw from Doom, also when reading he waited five or ten minutes, there were five or six soldiers, he fired four or five shots it starts to get bloody annoying and I was constantly thinking to myself well how many were there. Recommended reading in this series.

This is a long winded actionfest of blazing guns, blown up and bullet riddled bodies. Nice to see an AT book with a lot of action, but it got a little bit wearysome after 346 pages. A pretty decent story dealing with AT helping out a Vietnamese detective in "Little Saigon" to find a missing friend and rescue his girl from the clutches of a General that has a iron grip on the community. Behind this general is a crazy woman who ultimately gives the orders, and she likes to torture people. Some nasty torture scenes in this book, and I thought there were a little too many of these graphic scenes. With this woman's reputation for torturing US soldiers back in the Vietnam war, a group of some of these former soldiers get a chance for revenge when they find out she is now operating a base inside the States. The last third of the novel is AT teaming up with these men for the assault in the wilderness and the underground tunnels below. I liked the nasty machine gun Gadjets used to mow down a bunch of bad guys. Blancanales gets a lot of focus in this book, more so than Lyons. It was interesting to see some flashbacks from his vietnam days. Some parts of the book were pretty good, although a little long and with the author's cookie cutter dialogue and Lyons and Gadjets again being cardboard cutouts, I consider this novel in the 7 star range.

This was a very entertaining book, although it bugs me that Ken Rose cannot seem to be sure on how many rounds are expended at different times in the narrative. (Example: He fired five or six more useless rounds.....).I like the justice that was dealt to the woman torturer. Great imagery seeing these specters closing in on her.
