It's no coincidence that Cuban missiles disappear at the same time two scientists are kidnapped from a conference in Mexico. And all the clues lead to North Korea. The country already has atomic bombs, and now they've got everything they need to perfect long-range missile technology. Unless Mack Bolan can stop them. Determined to save the scientists and prevent a world war, Bolan learns he's not the only one with his sights set on retrieving the missiles. Iranian soldiers are also after the technology, along with a North Korean army colonel and his ruthless assistant. With a killer on his tail, the Executioner has to eliminate the international threat or die trying.

I really want to give this story a 6.5. So much potential, but so much chucked away. The supporting characters really drew me in, both from the North Korean side as well as the FBI side. The plot wasn't too outlandish and did work as a Bolan story even though there were sections where Bolan was side-lined. However the story didn't fit into the allocated pages, much was chopped out and major characters were killed off page with a sentence in the story to explain their demise. I feel the author started the story full of hope then just ran out of space, or a merciless editor just removed huge chunks and left it at that. But what really rankled, more than Bolan being one dimensional, was the complete re-write of Jack Grimaldi. Here he comes across as a complete ass - a sexist, misogynistic character that has nothing to do with the Grimaldi of previous novels. I felt like punching him every time he opened his mouth. Grimaldi could have been replaced by any character for all the contribution he made to the story. The author got the character complete wrong and it showed. Hence the lower rating.
