Shoot Down

I really enjoyed this book. The plot is probably a little thin but it is a good read from start to finish. I very much enjoyed while waiting for Grimaldi to return after his escape over the next few days Bolan systematically moved through the defending troops and cut their numbers down. Probably not one of the absolute classics but this is a very good read. Highly recommended. my two bobs worth........

A Russian pilot and his harrier style jet are hired by a Golden Triangle drug lord to protect his empire and run heroin shipments. Bolan's mission is to find and destroy this jet. Jack Grimaldi has a major role in this novel, working with Bolan for most of the adventure. I liked how Grimaldi kept his cool when captured and had the confidence Mack was going to rescue him. Mack displayed the same confidence in Jack, these guys have always made the best team, and this book shows this better than most books I can think of. Mack is back in the jungle once more doing what he does best, and Grimaldi's scenes piloting the captured helecopter are outstanding. The book is fast paced, action packed and full of thrilling arial combat and jungle warfare. The ending was very tense and exciting. The writing is excellent and full of descriptive detail and has realistic dialogue and characters. I really liked this novel, and am looking forward to reading many more books by Mr. Kasner.

If you don't like Grimaldi then don't buy the book. If you like him then hunt this book down now!!!! Jack really is the hero in the novel not Mack. Sure on the ground Mack is unbelievable and Jack well his ability to throw wouldn't get him on a little league team. Flying? Sure he gets shot down once and gets inprisoned but he took it well. Then he flew back after Mack rescued him and shot down using a helicopter an Russian advanced VTOL plane with an Ace Russian pilot. The purpose of the novel. The golden triangle drug dealers were typical drug dealers - "we are businessmen who just wants to earn a living" speel so common. The action is very good on the ground also with Mack fighting it out and being silent in the jungle. Still the air scenes were fantastic and the heart of the story. Again a great Grimaldi novel with Mack as support.

Damn!!!!!! Jack gets knocked out of the sky? Hard to picture!! Great rest of the book as Mack gets back to his roots and he and Jack both tear ass.

i have no idea what the other two comments were all about. this book really stands out to me as being one of the best (if there is a best) of the new books with the black covers. it is really non stop action, meaning there isn't a lot of explaining that goes on in it. the whole book is in mack bolan and jack grimaldi's view as they are in the jungle, and they blow 'em outta the water. recommended.

Though not as good as the other Executinoer books I have read, it was entertaining. A solid 7.
