With Europe in economic turmoil, a small fascist group led by a powerful German industrialist plans to bring the continent under one leader. But first they must weaken the U.S. so it can't interfere. The idea is simple, except conspiracists don't count on Mack Bolan. In Bolan's search for a missing federal agent, he finds himself in a bloody firefight at the heavily guarded estate of an international arms dealer. As the bodies pile up around him, though, intel begins to paint a picture much bigger than one missing American. It's a picture with devastating global repercussions and the U.S. is about to take the first, calculated hit. Bolan must chase a burning fuse across Europe and America to prevent this promised fascist takeover.

So the villain, Vogelsand, is a rich German who has the usual holdups about his home country going to rack and ruin so is going to do something about it.....but we are not really sure what the grand plan is. There is a ham fisted assassination attempt on the President and the German Chancellor (they get whisked away during the attempt and are virtually forgotten about). What we do have is a never ending supply of henchmen for Bolan to shoot. Bolan enters the story looking for a missing FBI lady in Monaco. For some reason Leo Turrin is with him and acts like a super commando. Why Turrin and not one of the Able or Phoenix guys wasn't explained. It didn't matter anyway as Turrin was as cardboard as the henchmen he was shooting at. Bolan and friends follow the trail to Algeria then off to the USA to shoot more henchmen before finishing in the Caribbean to shoot more henchmen. So, in reality there was not much storyline. I will give the book 7 stars as it wasn't badly written and there were not too many errors (Grimaldi is 'short' but on one page 'has long legs' and can 'hoove it').

What starts with a rescue of a female federal agent, turns into a mission to stop a German industrialist from resurrecting another Reich. Takes place in France, then goes across the sea to Tunisia, and ends up in Arizona, this was a pretty fast-paced adventure. Grimaldi helps out, along with the lady fed. Nothing special about the main villain, but one of the female baddies was written well. The last 40 pages helped notch this up one more star with incredible action as Bolan takes down this neo-Nazi and his gang of thugs.
