Deathbites

What a load of garbage and I totally disagree with previous reviewers. Where do I start with this nonsense? So, if I got this right, guys get laid off from work and blame automation and computers. Instead of looking for new jobs they get hold of guns and become terrorists massacring anybody and everybody. Sounds realistic, right? They are recruited by the most inept Japanese terrorists going, ones who shoot their unemployed recruits on a whim. They then fumble and bumble their way around and set themselves up as ducks in a shooting arcade. Great way to go out if you loose your job. And then there is Able Team and their whole host of guest stars and hangers on. The cast reads like a Hollywood movie end credits. Just over half of Phoenix Force show up to shoot the unemployed terrorists. And Harold Brognola climbs down ropes on the side of buildings. But what annoys me is how the guest characters kill without compunction. A gymnast (who is flown in from California to Atlanta in a matter of minutes) a regular cop, Toni Blancanales and a computer programmer become expert commando's and just go on to massacre the unemployed terrorists with no problem whatsoever. Just grab a machine gun or plant explosives and booby traps, these 4 can do it all. Completely unbelievable, as well as the fact that they seem to join the super secret Stony Man Farm organisation with out any problem. So complete junk. The only shining star is the return of Toni Blancanles, a character that is completely forgotten by modern Gold Eagle writers.

Well this is like a mini Stony Man series title as there are lots of appearances from the different teams. Jack, Katz, McCarter and Manning are here. Brognola who is probably pissed regarding his almost non appearance in the series to date makes two memorable scenes and takes a few of the bad guys out. Babette who was Gadgets squeeze in the last title makes another appearance and coupled with a couple of excellent characters namely Lao Ti and Deborah Devine there a many many characters of note in this title. The action scenes are fantastic in this title and mucho plentiful especially the last third of the title. When you read the section on Katz and what he does to the cell he is assigned to remove is the sort of reading which will bring a smile to your face especially if you have read one of the original titles I'm thinking Chicago Wipeout but I may be wrong where Mack infiltrates the Mafia hardsite as a telephone repairman in the snowing blizzard and actually gets a tip from one of the guys who feels for him working in the conditions and also to a lesser extent what McCarter and Manning cook up. I loved this title and would highly recommend it to you for reading of this series.

I'd give this one 7 or 7 1/2 stars. Tons of action, pretty relentless really. Takes place right after the previous book; with a civilian warrior ( who Gadgets shagged) comes back to help out. This part is not realistic as I can't imagine any assault team enlisting a gymnastics coach for field work. Oh well. The pacing is good; Lyons has most of the spotlight as he hooks up with an undercover state cop to infiltrate the terrortists' cell. Best part of the book is when Bragnola, David McCarter and Gary Manning and Yakov lend a hand in their own chapters. The ending was a bit abrupt, but hey, still good.

Able Team and their allies wage war on terrorist scum trying to cripple the U.S. computer industry. This is a surprisingly good book, coming after the author's previous story in the series. Everything that was wrong with that one is made good here. This book ranks among the best of Able Team's adventures so far. The story is good and well paced. The villains are interesting and easy to hate, and they meet their fates with sufficient regularity to keep things hopping. Action is the name of the game here and it begins before Able Team even gets to fire a shot with attacks on computer research firms by the terrorist panzies. But when Able starts taking the fight to the scum the tempo really ratchets up. Pol, Gadgets and Lyons with his Atchison deal out death to baddies swiftly, surely and often. Lead flies, things go Boom, and thrills keep coming. The action scenes in this book are so much better than the author wrote in the previous story that it almost doesn't seem like the same guy wrote them. One nice thing about this book is that Pol and Gadgets get just as much attention and coverage as Lyons. Too many of the Able Team books seem like they belong to a series called "Carl Lyons and Two Other Guys" so this is really a welcome change. And Able Team gets lots of help in this one with cameo appearances by Manning, McCarter and Katz who all deliver their share of destruction to the enemy. And Hal Brognola gets in on the action this time as well in two (!) shootouts of his own. Add in two great supporting characters in Deborah Devine and, especially, the exciting Lao Ti and you've got a real powder keg of excitement in this tale. This book just misses being a ten star effort. It's a very strong 9 stars. Read it.

This book is all right, lots of action, especially at the end, but overall i didn't think this one was as good as #11, which I gave a 6 star. The villain comes back in #32, but I don't really care much for her, she's too cartoonish.

I loved this one. Great action, and a good villain. The ending was rather abrubt, and we had to wait till #32 to see the outcome.
