A U.S. senator's murder and the kidnapping of several children of high-profile government officials leave the President no choice but to call in Stony Man to investigate. But the kidnappings are only the tip of the iceberg. The ransom money and income from a human trafficking ring are being used to fund terrorist activities overseas. It's a race against time as Able Team has to track down the kidnappers in Florida before anything happens to the children, while Phoenix Force hunts the ringleader in Morocco. Their goal: neutralize the operation. No matter what.

Starts great, fizzles in the middle as the lack of villain's motive becomes apparent, then a rushed an unsatisfactory ending. I did like the references to previous missions (this story takes place immediately after Stony Man 119: Close Quarters)and there is reference to a Mack Bolan adventure featuring a 'carnivore' device but I have no idea which book that is. But after a great and sinister beginning involving kidnapped children, that plot piece faded away as did the drug smuggling and the story evolved into one of moving from location to location shooting terrorists which soon became tedious. Thus only a 7.

Very enjoyable novel from this first time writer. Able started things rolling, and I liked how Kozar mentioned previous missions. His characterizations were done well. Then Phoenix comes into the mix and the Moroccan cop was a well-drawn character who helped the warriors hunt down the mastermind of the child slavery and drug ring. Able comes in towards the end to foil a terrorist attack with a decent battle, but the wrap up was way too quick and not very satisfying. Black Betty was too cool! Meanwhile, PF assaults an underground base and let's the Navy do their thing as per the front cover. All in all, Kozar hit the mark with his characterizations of the teams and good action. Great job!
