Desperate Passage

Action scenes with more of the same and more of the same with little concern to do with a plot or storyline then if you like this type of title then you will like this one. Loved the scene at the unused aircraft hanger with the Death Squad and the trained attack dogs (probably the highlight of the title goodness the Big Guy is resilient isn't he). Bucket loads of spelling and grammar errors in this title which started to get on the annoying side when reading this one and really distracted from the reading experience. Not one to recommend in the series here.

Her name is Sukarnoputri, a CIA stringer, and she has to be the most unluckiest Bolan companion in recent years. So unlucky is this woman, she’s a black hole of luck. Everything in her orbit has their luck sucked from them. Which is why this entry of the Executioner is interesting. The first and second acts of a three act book, Bolan loses his mojo. For one of the few times in the series, absolutely nothing goes right for him. The reader observes his exasperation and determination in a stripped down, brawling fight in a single night. Bolan, for once, acts like a desperate man. The novelty is gone by the third act, but the author knows when to cut it short, and brutal.

I really liked this one. Bolan's mission goes from bad to worse, then even worse. Great writing, great action. One of the more entertaining ones I've read in a while. Bolan stranded in the abandoned airport in the old hangar surrounded by bad dudes is classic stuff, his escape with a wounded guide in tow, again classic! Eh Kay says check it out !

I thought this Executioner title had a lot going for it. First and foremost, it had a ton (even for an Executioner title) of action. The action was extremely well done, with Bolan mowing through his enemies in typical fashion. I also loved the description of the water city of Kampong Ayer, where a critical scene is set. I had no idea such a place existed, and the author really made the place real for me. I gave it an eight instead of a higher rating only because I felt the story lacked character development, particularily regarding the main villain, Zamira Loebis. Loebis was basically a name only (although a great name for a bad guy). But I do recommend this title and I enjoyed it a great deal for its nearly non-stop action and its great settings. --Mykal Banta

THis one was a surprise for me. The only other book I read from this author (Appointment in Baghdad) didn't really impress me. But this one turned out to be awesome. I started to read this book one night and I said to myself I would only read 2 chapters. The plot, action, and intensity of this book really caught me. I ended up like reading eight chapters that night. I finished it the next day because I couldn't put it down. From the moment Bolan parachuted into Indonesia everything went wrong and it mad the story fast-paced and intense. There were some editorial errors, but overall it was awesome.
