Almost agree with the previous reviews but I actually found the book quite fulfilling. Was refreshing to see a book being written that set up the scenario and introduced some major characters and their back stories way before bringing Mack into the fray, really made the "already done" plot seem new to me. The characterization and interaction was well presented. You feel for the good guys and want to know more about them as well as the bad guys and why they came to be "bad" in the first place. Jack and Able make awesome cameos and it wraps up somewhat abruptly but not unsatisfactorily. Only MAJOR FLAW (which should have gotten someone at Gold Eagle fired) is the cover. Why the hell they would have the blatant Tokyo Mauri Airsoft brand side of the Mp5 showing and no one caught that is beyond reprehension.

Pretty much agree this title didn't do a lot for me which is not to say it was in any way bad which it isn't but there is nothing much to get excited about either. The plot has been pretty much worked over so there is nothing new there but the author saves the title with some pretty good action scenes which is quite enjoyable reading. You could do worse in this series than this one up to you.

An interesting setup to this book had sort of a sympathetic villain, which in this series is not something you see every day. The action scenes were pretty good, but I thought the female character was not featured enough. I did enjoy the retired CIA guy who helps Bolan, and his bit of characterization helped. But, I found the other villains to be like the zillion other former CIA/military who would be considered "sickos". Overall, enjoyable, but not a spectacular read.
