Stolen Arrows

My first read of Mr. Pollotta's work and DAMN what a thrill ride and a half! Very refreshing writing style with great action and characterization. The initial concept of the suitcase nukes and their abduction is the beginning of a most impressive story with some ruthless and brilliantly deceptive bastards introduced! Mack is having to wade through the mess they leave behind whilst trying to get a step in front. Action scenes are outta the ballpark!! Descriptive, detailed and I have to say the Cessna vs. C130 is up in my top ten of all time. I cannot imagine anyone disliking this book. Highly, highly recommended reading! (Thank you Mr Polotta! Please give us a Dillard - kicking sequel!!)

Must admit I am a bit of a fan of this author's Stony Man titles where the ones I have read were all excellent and on my travels reading this series in order arrive at this one, his one and only entry in this series to date. Very impressive one and only title in the series where you would be hard pressed to find better reading. The bad guys Scion are incredible all four of them are stone cold killers who many times kill for little or no reason at all but the ultimate is the attack on the biker bar where they wished to set up an online bidding auction on the Internet. Superb action scenes here and if you decide to read this one I would be stunned if you did not like it. Highly recommended reading.

I enjoyed this book from the first page. The bad guys were such such psychos especially Minze. The action was top rate. I did have some problems with the book though. The Scion was killed off too easily by Able Team when, the Scion was just as smart as Able Team or Bolan or even smarter.-1 I was hoping that Minze would try to seduce Bolan or Lyons that would have been cool. Also if some of the members of Scion had escaped in the last scence for some future books,would have been interesting.-1 At least the head of S2 surived.The fight Bolan had with the German terrorists and the way Able team used the license plates to create the USA.+1 When Bolan shoot the bookie before he called Scion was a little too much. I don't think he would really do that.-1 Overall, a good book despite its flaws.

This book is a good read. I liked the hand-to-hand battle at the end between Bolan and Zalhares. It would have been better if the other members of the Scion hadn't died so quickly. Also, I was hoping for Bolan to maintain his undercover role with Gorilla Dillard longer. Overall, worth checking out.

*Spoilers Throughout* Stolen Arrows was a hell of a book, particularly when it was being written from the Scion's (bad guys) point of view - and bad they were. This is the first time in quite a while that the villains have been out-and-out psycho, killing just because people look at them wrong, so it's all the better when they meet up with Bolan and Able Team towards the end - this is also where the major problem comes from. The four members of Scion are extremely good at what they do, yet all but one is wiped out by Able Team in just a couple of pages. This was most disappointing with Mizne, the female Scion member. I was sure she would try to seduce one of the Team, it was leading up to it all through the book, would have been great too. Still well worth checking out.

I was impressed by this first Mack Bolan written by another new author. The characters were accurate, including the members of Able Team, who I was pleased to see in this novel. The action scenes were done well, and I found myself really getting into the story more and more as I read along. Bolan is out to find some suitcases that have ended up in the hands of black market dealers. These are actually atomic bombs, and Bolan must act fast to trace them down and disarm them. Full of fast paced adventure, with a good mix of perspectives from the bad guys and their scemes, Bolan, and Able Team. An enjoyable entertaining action flick.
